By filling in the portion size in the Food Bowl profile, you set up a “Feeding Assistant”. Feeding Assistant helps you control the portion sizes without using a weight or mobile phone. Once activated, it always helps you to measure a pre-set amount of food with a +/- 2g deviation.
How to activate Feeding Assistant?
Lift the bowl and incline it in a 90-degree angle to either side. The bowl will beep 1x. Place the bowl back on the floor, table, or even surface. After 3 seconds, the bowl will start beeping, which means that the Feeding Assistant has been activated. Start filling the bowl until the beeping changes to a continuous tone that indicates that the set limit is reached. If you exceed the set amount, you will hear an alarm sound. The continuous tone will stop after 5 seconds once the optimal amount of food in the bowl has been reached, or after 10 seconds in case of a different amount than optimal. Once the bowl stops beeping, your dog can access it and use it.
Tips:
Feeding your dog once a day - Set a Feeding Assistant portion size to the total amount of food you have set as a Daily Food Goal in your dog’s profile.
Feeding your dog twice a day - Set a Feeding Assistant portion size to a half amount of food you have set as a Food Goal in your dog’s profile.
Free feeding - As you do not need to use Feeding Assistant, you don’t have to set any Food Goal or Food Level.
